Web+Accessibility

W3C Accessibility, XHTML and CSS ComplianceWith the World Wide Web’s emergence as a primary distribution medium for Information and Communications Technology, it is paramount that the Web be developed to be accessible by everyone. Web Accessibility addresses the issue of creating web sites that are accessible to all members of society, whether they have a visual, hearing, physical, or cognitive disability, the digital medium should accommodate all members of society utilising good design principals.

It is essential to any business that the full user market be addressed. Current statistics suggest that disabled users currently make up around 10-20% of the population in the majority of countries. That is not including users that are considered ‘partially’ disabled.
It is now also a legal requirement as defined by the Disability Discrimination Act that websites conform to accessibility guidelines defined by the World Wide Web Consortium.

Continuum are experienced in the design and implementation of accessibly compliant websites and e-learning materials up to the maximum W3C WAI AAA conformance, and coding to W3C XTHML standards.
