The Deep – Holoshark Interactive

The Holoshark interactive uses the innovative Holopro display technique to achieve the illusion of an image floating in space. The kiosk allows the visitor to interactively peel away the skin of a shark and see it’s muscles, skeleton, internal organs and sensory system. The 3D model of the sharks insides was completed by Continuum’s CGI team through detailed liaison with The Deep and many other shark experts, some as far away as Hawaii. This 3D model represents one of the most accurate three dimensional reconstructions of a shark anywhere in the world.

Caesarea Reconstructed

For the CGI reconstruction of ancient Caesarea, the team at Continuum had to build, rig and animate a huge cast of different 3D characters in order to bring the world of 2000 years ago back to life. From the Roman chariot races to the epic battle scenes of the Crusader period, the entire production is spellbinding and extraordinarily realistic.

The Deep - Twilight Zone

Continuum accepted a remarkable challenge from The Deep: to recreate in painstaking 3D detail two amazing creatures from the ocean depths. To make its virtual simulation of the giant pacific octopus and the Indonesian coelacanth – thought until fairly recently to be extinct – as realistic and accurate as possible, the team had to do a huge amount of research. The results are astonishingly lifelike animations that are viewed on 3 large plasma screens set inside a huge 100,000 litre tank full of live fish.

making it!

At “making it!” an exciting mix of film, multimedia, screen graphics and interactive games provides the answer. The Continuum team created two computer-modelled cartoon characters, Cog and Sprocket, to act as graphic guides to the Discovery Centre and star in their own animated film.

Concept Development

To keep our artistic edge, the artists at Continuum are encouraged to pursue self development in order to expand their skill base and develop fresh imaginative concepts. This is especially true with the constantly ever more complex area of CG characters.
