Caesarea Reconstructed

Continuum led the master planning and interpretation scheme for this important archaeological site.  Central to the interpretation is the multimedia which make full use of video based interactive characters and CGI reconstruction.  All the CGI work undertaken was meticulously researched using all the available published material which spans over 30 years of site excavations.  The 10 minute CGI introductory show tells the story of the last 2000 years of Caesarea’s history starting with the construction of Herod’s harbour in 10BC through to its modern day use.  The show features dramatic effects including invading armies and chariot races.

St. Hilda’s Parish Church, Hartlepool

Our brief at St. Hilda's Church was to provide unobtrusive displays that tell the story of the church and the surrounding area both for locals and visitors to the region. Integral to the scheme is the introductory movie which combines 3D reconstruction, modern footage and archive material which presents a condensed potted history of St Hilda's. As the first of its kind, the scheme proposed to open the doors of St Hilda's to the public, not only as a visitor centre, but as a working church.

Whitby Abbey Headland Project

Continuum designed the interpretative exhibition for the new museum and visitor centre at Whitby Abbey.  This work included the introduction of an audio tour, several interactive multimedia kiosks and CGI modelled AV for the visitor centre within the remains of Hugh Cholmley's mansion.  Three unique animated CGI sequences recreate the historical buildings and landscape of the Headland on a large 16 metre panoramic screen.  Working closely with the interpretation and research teams of English Heritage, we painstakingly rebuilt the medieval abbey and restore Sir Hugh's sumptuous interiors using beautifully detailed computer modelling.

Poole Museum, Dorset

As part of a 1.5 million pound project, the brief was to produce a replacement conceptual frontage for the Poole Museum in Dorset.  This project demonstrates Continuum’s ability for forward thinking, positioning Poole Museum at the cutting edge of national developments in museum thinking and aspirations.

Coventry Cathedral

Continuum led the design and development of the new visitor centre at Coventry’s Lost Cathedral - St Mary's Priory.  Our 3D computer visualisation is based upon painstaking research of plans, excavated stonework and comparative material from other churches and cathedrals.  The project focused on the complex interiors of the Cathedral, the star of which is the highly detailed Chapter House.  The result is one of the most detailed virtual 3D reconstructions of an English cathedral ever undertaken.

Stowe House

Continuum worked with the Stowe Preservation Trust to increasing both public access to, and enjoyment of, this magnificent and major cultural site. As part of the exhibition, a virtual model of the evolution of the house was constructed which plainly allows people to fully appreciate the large number of structural changes that befell the building between 1700 and 1775. Extensive quality coverage was achieved including a double page spread in The Telegraph, piece in The Guardian, and extensive coverage in regional press and heritage trade media.
